Veale Wasbrough Vizards (VWV), the Bristol and London-based law firm, has been appointed to a panel of firms providing expert legal services to six local authorities in Oxfordshire and the Royal Berkshire Fire Authority.
Local authorities in Berkshire and Buckinghamshire can also use the panel which has been appointed for a four year period.
VWV is one of eight firms selected for the new panel, set up in response to a local government drive to buy high quality services at competitive prices.
The appointment, made following a competitive tender, strengthens VWV’s position in the public sector legal market – the firm has acted for more than 50 local authorities and is a member of Buying Solutions Full Commercial panel, the largest national procurement service supplying central government departments, NHS Trusts, local councils and schools.
VWV has also administered the Local Government Training Partnership (LGTP) for more than 10 years, providing a range of seminars with quality speakers on the legal issues most relevant to local government lawyers.
As a member of the Oxfordshire panel, VWV will provide expert legal advice across a wide of specialist areas. Authorities taking part include Oxford City Council, Cherwell District Council, West Oxfordshire District Council, Oxfordshire County Council, Vale of the White Horse District Council, South Oxfordshire District Council and the Royal Berkshire Fire Authority.
