Information Officer (12 month fixed term contract)

Team: Library and Information Service

Objective

To support lawyers based in two offices, in Bristol and London, in advising the firm's clients and in developing its business by providing first rate legal and commercial information.

To contribute to the development, implementation and promotion of the firm's knowledge sharing strategy

Required skills, knowledge and experience

  • significant experience of working in a commercial library, preferably in the legal sector and involving some management of know-how
  • graduate calibre, ideally with a degree or post-graduate qualification in Library and Information Management
  • collaborative, with excellent IT and communication skills; well-organised
  • committed to quality and user-focused
  • positive attitude!

Tasks

  • implementation of knowledge sharing initiatives
  • supporting lawyers in legal and business research
  • contributing to the development of in-house information resources and databases
  • liaison with legal teams
  • assisting users in taking full advantage of Library resources
