| I went to the Royal Courts of Justice to attend a Court of Appeal hearing on one of my colleague's cases. It occurred quite early on during my seat so I had to get up to speed quickly but it was a fascinating experience | ![]() |

| So far the most interesting piece of work I have been involved in was drafting a contract of employment for the Headmaster of one of the country's most prestigious independent schools. Not only were there a wide variety of benefits for the Head which had to be incorporated into the contact but the School was owned by a Trust which made defining the employing party quite difficult. I therefore had to work with colleagues in the Education Corporate department in order to understand the trust structure so that the contact was made between the correct parties. Additionally the articles of government for the trust set out specific duties for the Head which had to be incorporated into the contract. All of these factors made the work complex but very engaging. | ![]() |

| During my second seat I was involved in a mediation regarding a contractual dispute. Not only did I find the area of law interesting and learned a lot about mediation as a method of alternative dispute resolution, I felt really involved with the client and the VWV team. I got a great sense of achievement when we resolved the dispute to our client's satisfaction." | ![]() |
