Trainee responses...

Arrive 8:30am. Check emails and to do list, and manage workload for the day. Liaise with supervisor around 9am to discuss what I have on/whether I have capacity to take on more work. I am often required to attend the odd meeting/training session. Work. Break for lunch - very often able to take a full hour unless there is something urgent to do. Work throughout the afternoon. Deal with pieces of work that come in and require urgent attention. Offer to help anyone who is busy. Leave 6pm Dan Whitewood
I always start my day with a cup of tea (and not just me for, but for the team too!). I will check my emails to see if there is anything important which needs my urgent attention. I will then sit down with my Supervisor to review work and my capacity for the week ahead. Lunch is always an excellent opportunity to get out the office for some fresh air and catch up with other trainees and colleagues in the firm. A typical afternoon may bring in an urgent international student visa application or an appeal to the UK Border Agency with strict time limits. Alternatively I can be asked to assist another member of the team with preparing for a client meeting or reviewing a school policy Charlotte Melhuish
