Con Alexander

Partner & Head of Charities

Con is a Partner in the Education & Charities Department. He acts for a wide range of charities, social enterprises and other not for profit bodies, including grant making foundations, universities and colleges and charities operating in diverse fields, including social care, education and public service delivery.

Con has particular expertise in a wide range of governance issues (including public benefit, conflicts of interest and trustees' duties and liabilities) and also in investment and endowment, mergers, joint ventures and collaborations, tax and trading. He acts for a number of clients working overseas and specialising in social investment.

Con has a degree in English Literature from Cambridge University. He trained and qualified with Linklaters and, before joining Veale Wasbrough Vizards, was a partner with Bates, Wells & Braithwaite. He speaks and writes on charity law issues, sits regularly on Charity Law Association working parties, is on the consulting board for PLC (charities) and is the author (with Jos Moule) of "Charity Governance" (published by Jordans).  Con is also a trustee of Wildscreen.
