Vicky trained and qualified at Veale Wasbrough Vizards in 2006. She specialises in contentious trust and probate disputes.
Vicky's clients range from private individuals including executors, administrators and beneficiaries, to professionals such as Court appointed administrators, deputies and local authorities.
Examples of recent cases
- Successfully negotiating a multi million pound settlement at a mediation on behalf of a partner of the firm who was the Court appointed Administrator of an English estate, which had an interest in a Swiss Estate. This was a complex multi party dispute involving proceedings being issued in both jurisdictions against the former executor of the Swiss Estate for misappropriation of monies and valuable works of art.
- Acting for a person maintained by the deceased in a claim for reasonable financial provision under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, resulting in a Deed of Variation.
- Advising the Administrators of a disputed intestate estate on the law of Forfeiture. This was a complex Estate, involving minor children and a successful application under Section 116 of the Supreme Court Act 1981 for the passing over of the right of the convicted spouse to act as Administrator of the Estate.
- Acting for minor children in a disputed intestate estate, and advising them on the impact of their proposed adoption on their inheritance and implementing a Deed of Assignment enlarging their interest to an absolute interest in order to safeguard their inheritance.
