One of our partners became dual qualified in both Scots and English law specifically so as to advise Scottish schools. This dual qualification enables us to apply our knowledge and expertise on the legal issues affecting independent schools to schools in Scotland.
We are fully familiar with the regulatory regime affecting independent schools in Scotland and guidance and practices adopted by both Her Majesty's Inspector the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR). Further, employment law in Scotland is almost identical to that in England and Wales, which means we are able to offer the expertise of 11 specialist education employment lawyers.
A number of Scottish schools have adopted our template terms and conditions for parents, which have long been regarded as the sector standard for independent schools.
Our experience over more than 20 years of advising independent schools enables us to identify common issues and difficulties and to support our schools clients on the whole range of legal and strategic issues facing individual schools and the sector as a whole. We have developed a number of products and services specifically for independent schools which can be tailored to each of the schools we work with - in this way, you will not pay for us to re-invent the wheel and can rest assured that whilst every school is unique, that we are likely to have the answer to any concerns you are likely to have.
We are well-known for finding pragmatic solutions backed by intellectual rigour and a high level of technical competence.
