Bristol Property Forum

Science Park

Join us on Thursday 16 September 2010 for our next Bristol Property Forum event. Refreshments will be served from 7.30am followed by the session at 8.00am, closing at 9.00am.

Mark Brunsdon of GVA Grimley will cover the case for a science park in Bristol and Bath and outline the facilities which will be available in the first phase of development now under construction.

Chris Foley of South West RDA will consider the role and need for a science park in the bristol and Bath city region and its place in the national innovation agenda. He will review the Regional Development Agency's role as a promoter and catalyst, its partnership with developer Quantum Property Partnership and the local universities and its success in attracting the National Composites Centre to SPark.

Stephen Rosser of Clarke Willmott Clarke will give a brief overview of some of the contractual positions between the Agency as owner of the site, its adjoining land owners, as well as its relationship with its development partner and prospective occupiers.

Mark Brunsdon is an executive director of GVA Grimley with over 20 years experience of providing development, strategic property and valuation advice principally to the public sector. He has represented the South West of England Regional Development Agency in relation to the Bristol and Bath Science Park since 2003.

Chris Foley is Head of Regeneration with the SW Regional Development Agency. He has extensive experience in regeneration and economic development and has worked in the Bristol area for the past 20 years. Chris has been involved with the SPark project since its inception.

Stephen Rosser was appointed Chief Executive of Law Firm Clarke Willmott in June 2010. Prior to that appointment he headed the firm’s Public Authorities and Regeneration Sector. Within that role he has advised clients in both the public and private sectors on a number of complex regeneration and development schemes. He has worked with Chris and Mark on the SPark property from the time that the Agency first agreed to purchase the site in 2003.
