Our clients

We provide partner led advisory and contentious procurement advice to the full range of contracting authorities including local authorities, government departments/agencies, universities, academies, social enterprises and many other public sector bodies.

On the supplier side we advise suppliers bidding for public sector contracts, particularly in the healthcare and pharmaceuticals and life sciences sectors.

Procurement Act

The Procurement Act has implications for all stages of the procurement lifecycle from planning through to contract management. It aims to make the procurement rules less prescriptive but places an increased requirement on contracting authorities to publish notices.

We can support organisations with the implementation of the new rules with updated policies and procedures, providing guidance on evaluation and recording the decision making process and training.

Subsidy control

The Subsidy Control Act changes the approach to assessing subsidies and operates in a different way to the previous State aid rules. We can advise on the implications of the changes from the State aid and interim subsidy control rules to the new UK subsidy control regime, carry out subsidy assessments, advise on structuring transactions to comply with the new rules and provide opinions for funders and grant recipients.

Procurement disputes

Working with our specialist litigation team, we advise both contracting authorities and unhappy bidders on rights and remedies to challenge and defend public procurement outcomes.

The immensely impressive team provides pragmatic, commercial advice to many public sector clients and local authorities.
