Statutory Pay Entitlements Due to Rise in April 2022

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) recently published a list of the proposed Benefit and Pension rates for 2022 to 2023.

Within their publication, the DWP have set out the increases which will apply to a number of statutory benefits including statutory sick pay, maternity, paternity, shared parental and adoption pay.

From April 2022, the following rates are due to apply:

  • statutory sick pay - the weekly rate will rise to £99.35, from £96.35
  • statutory maternity, paternity, shared parental and adoption pay - the new weekly rates will be £156.66, up from £151.97

All of the proposed increases to benefit and pension rates can be found online. The changes are expected to be implemented through legislation in the new year to come into effect on 11 April 2022.
