SSP Payable Under NHS Test and Trace Programme

on Friday, 29 May 2020.

The new NHS 'Test and Trace' scheme was launched in England yesterday, with similar schemes due to shortly follow in the rest of Great Britain.

The scheme is intended to help trace close recent contacts of anyone who tests positive for coronavirus (COVID-19). Those who have come into close contact with someone who goes on to test positive will be notified and told to self-isolate at home for 14 days.

Staff who receive a notification can work from home if possible within their role. If working from home is not possible, those told to self-isolate under the scheme will be entitled to statutory sick pay whilst at home.
