Disability Discrimination in the Workplace - New ACAS Guidance
ACAS has published guidance covering the key points for the workplace in relation to disability discrimination.
The guidance specifically covers:
- the definition of 'disability'
- different ways in which disability discrimination can arise
- the key risk areas giving rise to discrimination in employment (such as recruitment, pay, promotion and dismissal amongst others)
The guidance also sets out considerations for employers and employees to take on board, and includes advice as to the raising and handling of discrimination complaints. Helpful examples are interspersed throughout the guidance.
