Ros qualified in 1986 and worked as a Litigation and Contract Law solicitor in both London and Hong Kong, before co-founding Lockharts Solicitors as a Partner in 1995 and leading the Lockharts’ Partnership department.
I work with the firm's Healthcare clients advising on partnership and merger issues and providing GPs with tailored Partnership Deeds based on their individual practice requirements. I am also a strong advocate of mediation.
A core value of our firm that we all uphold is that the client is the centre of the firm on all levels. Our Healthcare clients are my key priority and my role is to advise and assist them. I have worked with and continue to work with GPs in many different geographical areas and appreciate the opportunity to visit clients at their premises to talk to them about their practices. This has resulted in my making a number of good friends over the years, sometimes arising from the most unlikely circumstances.
With partnership mergers, partnership structural advice and Partnership Deeds.
In addition to preparing new Partnership Deeds, I recommend that any existing Deed must be reviewed prior to a new partner joining a practice and that a general review of a practice's Deed should be undertaken every two to three years or when there are relevant changes in the law and/or the NHS. We always try and work very closely with practice accountants and have formed extremely strong relationships in the accounting sector.
I write regularly on a range of partnership issues, and have written publications including, Second Lead Contributor to Halsbury’s Laws of England - 4th Edition Resissue - Volume 33 (National Health Service). I am a member of the Association of Partnership Practitioners, and an CEDR Accredited Mediator.
Since Lockharts joined VWV in January this year, VWV now has a combined team of over 30 dedicated and experienced healthcare lawyers, with an array of legal knowledge, assisting our clients. We have all invested a great deal of time in understanding the nature of the sector and the complex issues that healthcare professionals face. Our combined knowledge and understanding puts the team in a strong position to guide and help our clients.
Recently, Chambers UK awarded VWV’s Healthcare team the highest ranking - Band 1 with five out of seven ranked lawyers in the section from VWV. Our named leading sector specialists are Ben Willis, Andrew Lockhart-Mirams, Oliver Pool, Paul Werrell, and myself.
