Understanding and Tackling Unconscious Bias

Progress towards creating a more diverse workforce at all levels is an objective that most employers are working towards and raising awareness of the role Unconscious Bias can play is key.

In this interactive session we will explore the concept of Unconscious Bias and how it can come into play during the employment relationship. We will cover:

  • key concepts from the Equality Act 2010 including the protected characteristics and the types of discrimination
  • examples of the Equality Act in practice
  • an exploration of the concept of unconscious bias
  • how unconscious bias can impact in the workplace
  • practical advice on how to mitigate the effects of unconscious bias

We will use practical scenarios and voting buttons to make the session as interactive as possible and there will be plenty of time for discussion and questions.

We believe attendance at the event will help to demonstrate competence in:
