Most law firm owners want more planned, predictable growth without working increasingly longer hours and risking burn-out to achieve it. Many firms plateau or rely on increasingly long hours from the owners, who typically also practice law and rarely build functional senior management teams like comparable businesses. Growing a law firm requires the same foundations as any other business, a critical one is the ability of the owner to work on the firm as well as in it and be as productive as possible. What if there were a set of skills and habits that can be developed to effectively create more time to work on the business and be more productive? Jeff will cover some of the quickest wins he uses with his clients, take action on these and start to focus on growing your firm and reducing your hours.

Mental health in the legal community
This session will provide an introduction to why mental health matters in the legal workplace, how the culture and practice of law can impact wellbeing, practical steps firms can take to create mentally healthy workplaces and top tips for looking after yourself.

We believe attendance at the event will help to demonstrate competence in A2 (Maintain the level of competence and legal knowledge needed to practise effectively, taking into account changes in their role and/or practice context and developments in the law).
