The recent Autumn Budget has introduced VAT on independent school fees, impacting financial planning, governance, and operational priorities for independent schools. To help schools understand and adapt to these changes, we invite you to join VWV advisors, along with VAT expert Steve Hodgetts, for a comprehensive webinar designed to provide critical insights and strategic planning support.

This will be hosted by members of VWV's multi-disciplinary team of VAT specialists, including lawyers, accountants and tax advisors. We understand that this is a big change for schools and will take a holistic approach to the planning and preparation stages, with plenty of time for questions. We hope you can join us.

This session will address essential questions and strategies, including:

  • Should schools register for VAT retrospectively? Why would they and what might the benefit be?
  • What are the considerations for determining the most appropriate VAT structure for your school, including:
    • The interplay between Education, Care and Welfare and the VAT implications
    • Use of the partial exemption special method to maximise VAT recovery; what is it and why would I use it?
    • Trading subsidiaries in a VAT environment
    • Single v multiple supplies including education, transport and catering
  • Invoicing
  • Monitoring and review

You'll also have the opportunity to present your own questions to our expert panel and listen to the concerns of others, with insightful answers provided by our panel.
