Led by the firm's Green Team, the London office has been a committed member of the Clean City Award Scheme (CCAS) for a number of years, with an aim of driving sustainable business.

Membership has ensured VWV improves its communication and engagement around sustainability and resource efficiency, as it works to improve its environmental impact.

The recent Gold Award for Communication & Engagement is the result of a range of initiatives, including improved messaging around recycling, firm-wide lunch and learn sessions with external speakers on environmental issues, as well as having an active Green Team in the London office.

A Bronze Award for Resource & Circular Economy also represents efforts made to reduce, reuse and recycle. In 2022, VWV donated approximately 200 computers to schools operating within the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership in Bristol. VWV has also adopted a responsible waste management hierarchy system as set out in its Environment Policy.

Commenting on the award, VWV's London Office Partner Katie Hickman said:

"Congratulations to all involved in promoting these green initiatives in our office. After the team won a Bronze Award for Communication & Engagement at last year's awards, the recent Gold Award represents a significant improvement.

"Thank you to CCAS for a fantastic event as always and congratulations to all of the winners."

The CCAS scheme was set up in 1994 to develop partnerships with all types of City businesses by raising the profile of responsible waste management.

The ceremony was held at Mansion House, with representatives from VWV's Green Team accepting both awards.

VWV prides itself on being a responsible business, demonstrated via its governance, policies, accreditations, and policy and procedural information.

The firm is also committed to achieving ISO standards 27001, 22301 and 14001 in 2023 (Information Security Management System, Business Continuity Management and Environmental Management), having recently achieved standard 9001 (Quality Management).

These standards are important to endorse VWV's credentials as a Responsible Business and are increasingly sought by clients, prospects, business partners and future employees.
