Avoid Costly Mistakes Extending a Lease

Extending a lease is a complex area of law with set time scales and processes to follow, and failure to follow the set procedures could be a costly mistake. You may need to arrange a lease extension before, or in conjunction with, selling your property if you want to raise more money against your property, or simply to ensure the value of your asset does not diminish over time. Our lease extension solicitors will support you through the process with jargon free advice, transparency on fees and competitive rates.

It's worth noting that the premium which you are likely to pay for your lease extension is likely to be significantly cheaper if you extend your lease when there are more than 80 years left on the lease.


For leaseholders, we will:

  • check your title
  • prepare and serve your initial Notice exercising your right to a lease extension
  • help you to understand the Landlords Counter-Notice
  • finalise the drafting and registration of the new lease at the Land Registry.
