Recruitment of staff and robust procedures for managing allegations are vital parts of ensuring the safety of the children in your school.

In this in-person training session we will cover the key aspects of safer recruitment as they relate to independent schools and draw together specialist knowledge of safer recruitment, employment law, child protection, regulatory compliance and HR.

We aim to support you in achieving compliance with statutory obligations, moving towards best practice and managing the increasing regulatory burden in this complex area.

We will cover the relevant sections of KCSIE, including the recent updates, and look in detail at:

  • practical recruitment issues
  • pre-appointment checks
  • regulated activity
  • completing the single central register
  • dealing with safeguarding allegations
  • safer termination and your reporting obligations
