
Helen is a Senior Associate based in our Commercial Litigation team.
Helen is an expert in resolving high-value and complex commercial disputes, with a particular interest in family business corporate disputes.
Helen began her career in higher education, where she gained valuable practical insight into the workings of university institutions. Combined with her legal expertise, she is well-placed to advise VWV’s large number of higher education clients on a range of commercial disputes.
Helen re-joined VWV’s disputes team after practising in the Middle East, returning with specialist knowledge of international law, including advising on jurisdictional disputes.
Helen’s expertise spans a wide range of areas, including:
Shareholder disputes, with a focus on unfair prejudice claims
Partnership disputes
Professional negligence
Contractual claims, including contract termination
Helen takes a strategic and commercially focused approach to dispute management and has a proven track record of securing multi-million-pound settlements for her clients, both pre-action and during proceedings.
She has successfully represented clients at all stages of the litigation process, including managing highly contested disclosure exercises, and drafting complex witness evidence. She also has experience securing and resisting interlocutory applications, including summary judgment.
In addition to her court experience, Helen has international arbitration experience, including acting in a high-value arbitration before the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA).
Helen holds a First-Class Law degree and achieved a Distinction in her LPC.
Helen is based in our Bristol office, but supports clients nationally.
