About Jonathan

Jonathan heads VWV's AI Law team. He is an Associate in the Commercial team and is the firm’s Legal Technologist.

With a focus on AI, intellectual property and life sciences, Jonathan acts for vendors, IP rightsholders and commercial customers across the AI ecosystem. He advises on AI strategy and policy, IP licensing, AIaaS and SaaS contracts, project and collaboration agreements and wider commercial work. He also has experience advising on cross-jurisdictional copyright ownership and is a key part of our emerging practice helping clients decide whether, and how, to commercialise their data for AI purposes.

As Legal Technologist, Jonathan works with VWV's Innovation team on the firm’s AI strategy and its adoption of AI in day-to-day practice, and contributes to live innovation projects. This role gives him hands-on technical and practical knowledge of AI, which he brings directly to his client work. Jonathan also founded VWV’s Innovation Evenings, which brings people together to discuss topical issues in AI and legal innovation.

  • Advising a large group with operations across Europe on the commercial aspects of its AI policy and wider strategy for ethical and responsible AI adoption.

  • As VWV’s Legal Technologist, contributing to the firm's in-house AI development and third-party trials, working on innovation projects and contributing to the firm’s AI strategy.
