Gender Pay Report 2025
The UK Government legislates that all businesses in England, Scotland and Wales with 250 or more employees must report the following calculations:
Hourly pay gap – mean and median
Bonus pay gap – mean and median
Proportion of men and women receiving a bonus
Proportion of men and women in different salary quarters, ranked from highest to lowest
The gender pay gap highlights the difference in average hourly earnings between men and women.
Data has to be gathered on a snapshot date (5 April 2025) and our data statistics are as follows:
We were pleased to see a year-on-year reduction to both our mean and median gender pay gaps, as well as an increase in the percentage of women making up our upper and upper middle pay quartiles, better reflecting the overall gender makeup of our workforce.
We have also seen improvements to our bonus pay gap data, with a difference of just 0.3% between the number of men and women receiving a bonus and a reduction to our mean bonus pay gap.
We recognise that there is more work to be done but are encouraged by the strength of our talent pipeline and remain focussed on supporting women to develop and progress at every stage of their careers. This includes providing clear, equitable pathways to progression, offering ongoing access to mentoring and coaching, and continuing to develop the support and community offered through our Parents and Carers Network. We are committed to providing an inclusive culture in which everyone can thrive and fulfil their full potential.
Gender pay gap for employees
We are required to publish overall gender pay gap figures calculated using both the mean and the median average hourly pay which has been calculated in accordance with guidance contained within the regulations.
The 'mean' is the sum of all of the hourly pay rates divided by the number of males/females, as appropriate.
The 'median' is the mid-point when all of the hourly rates are sorted in ascending order.
