Smooth Transfers, Strong Starts: Integrating Schools into Academy Trusts
Joining an Academy Trust, welcoming new schools into a Trust, or merging Trusts is a significant moment of change for everyone involved. Whether you're a school or a Trust, effective planning and preparation are essential to ensure a smooth transition and positive outcomes for the entire school and Trust community.
What will this training cover?
In this session we provide some practical tips and guidance to support you when transitioning a new school into a Trust, whether you are the Trust or the school. We will also look at transfers of more than one school into Trusts through mergers.
As well as helping to avoid pitfalls we will give examples of how you may be able to put the school and the Trust in the best position possible. Topics will include:
- The application process
- Expected timelines
- Areas of risk for each party
- Identifying and resolving problems.
VWV Partners Chloe Brunton and Matthew Wolton will be joined by specialist Mark Blackman. Mark is a sector leading consultant who supports Trusts across the country in forming Trusts, managing academy transfers and large scale merger projects. His experience spans from being a founder CEO of a small Academy Trust to now working alongside the Department for Education on some of the most challenging change projects in the sector. He is a very experienced CEO, Headteacher, Accounting Officer and Project Manager and is currently leading a significant number of transfer, merger, and Trust formation projects.
