Managing subject access requests (SARs) can be one of the most time-consuming and complex aspects of data protection. This interactive training session is designed to give you clear, practical tools to handle SARs confidently and efficiently - with a focus on the challenges you face.

Led by sector specialists, the training will cover:

  • Taking a strategic approach
  • When to seek ID and clarification
  • Extending your response deadline appropriately
  • Making effective, proportionate searches
  • Applying key exemptions
  • Handling health data and other sensitive data with care
  • Providing the required supplementary information
  • Streamlining your processes to save time
  • Key updates under the Data (Use and Access) Act

The session is hands-on, discussion-led, and designed to give you confidence in what to do, not just an overview of the rules. To support that, we're limiting spaces to ensure plenty of opportunity to ask questions and get involved.

Who should attend this session?

This training is ideal for Data Protection Officers, in-house lawyers, compliance professionals, and anyone else responsible for dealing with SARs for their organisation.

Please note: This training is exclusively for those responsible for managing their own organisation's compliance and is open to organisations from all sectors. It is not open to those providing data protection services to other organisations.

We are also running a SAR session aimed specifically at the education and charity sectors in February. Details of the February session can be found here.
