We provide partner-led advisory and contentious procurement advice to the full range of contracting authorities including:

On the supplier side we advise suppliers bidding for public sector contracts, particularly in:

Understanding the Procurement Act

The Procurement Act has implications for all stages of the procurement lifecycle, from planning to contract management. It aims to make the procurement rules less prescriptive but places an increased requirement on contracting authorities to publish notices.

We support organisations with the implementation of the new rules, including:

  • Updated policies and procedures
  • Template procurement documents
  • Guidance on evaluation and recording the decision making process
  • Procurement Act helpline

 PROCUREMENT IN ACTION - Podcast

In preparation for the Procurement Act 2023 going live on 24 February 2025, we have a series of podcasts discussing how this may impact you:

Episode One - The Procurement Lifecycle & Competitive Tendering Processes

Episode Two - Exclusions Under The New Procurement Act

Episode Three - Successful Bidders, Standstill Periods and Remedies

Subsidy control

The Subsidy Control Act changes the approach to assessing subsidies and operates in a different way to the previous State aid rules. We can advise on the implications of the changes from the State aid and interim subsidy control rules to the new UK subsidy control regime, carry out subsidy assessments, advise on structuring transactions to comply with the new rules and provide opinions for funders and grant recipients.

Procurement disputes

Working with our specialist litigation team, we advise both contracting authorities and unhappy bidders on rights and remedies to challenge and defend public procurement outcomes.
