After 16 years with the firm, Yvonne Spencer, who has been at the helm of the regulatory compliance side of the sector, will be retiring.
Having joined VWV in 2008, Yvonne has made invaluable contributions to the firm and the clients she has worked with, and she will be greatly missed by colleagues and clients alike. Her next chapter will see her pursue a part-time Master’s degree in International Development and Education starting in 2025, aligning with her passion for lifelong learning.
Reflecting on her time at VWV, Yvonne shared, “It has been a great pleasure working with so many impressive clients over the years. I am always in awe of the commitment across the sector to delivering high-quality education and training for our children and young people. The dedication shown by our clients has been a constant source of inspiration to me and has shaped the drive and enthusiasm we have at VWV to proactively meet your legal needs.”
Yvonne has had a substantial impact on the Academies and Maintained Schools legal teams, helping guide the firm’s growth in this area and leaving a lasting legacy. Her leadership has been instrumental in developing many of the talented legal professionals at VWV who will continue to provide the highest level of support to clients in this sector.
Chloe Brunton will continue to oversee services for the Academies and Maintained Schools sector. She expressed her appreciation for Yvonne, stating, "It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Yvonne, who has been such a huge part of our journey. We're very excited to hear about the next chapter in her plans as she moves forward with her academic studies, something that has always been so important to her."
