
Alastair is a Solicitor in our Employment team in Bristol who advises on employment law and labour relations issues across a variety of sectors including Education.
Alastair has experience providing both contentious and non-contentious employment law advice. He advises clients on a range of employment law matters such as junior and senior contracts of employment, staff handbooks, individual HR policies, disciplinary and grievance processes, settlement agreements, TUPE transfers and redundancy exercises. Alastair also has experience of assisting clients with Employment Tribunal claims.
Alastair is based in the Bristol office, but can support you nationally.
Prior to joining VWV, Alastair worked closely with both UK-based and international clients across an array of sectors including retail, financial services, technology and global transport and logistics.
Alastair enjoys the academic side and practical application of employment law, as well as the requirement to be empathetic, professional and pragmatic when supporting clients to achieve their legal and commercial objectives.
What You Might Like to Know
Alastair graduated from the University of Leeds with a 2:1 in International History and Politics. Alastair then undertook his legal studies at the University of Law, at the London Bloomsbury Centre, achieving distinctions in both the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course.
Alastair is a member of the Employment Lawyers' Association, and attends seminars and events on various employment law issues. In his spare time, and to his wife's dismay on occasion, Alastair enjoys playing and watching numerous sports including tennis, golf, snooker and darts.
After completing his legal studies, Alastair went travelling around Hong Kong and Japan, and hopes to one day explore South America, New Zealand and Australia.
