
Emily is a Commercial Solicitor, specialising in the areas of Pharmaceuticals and Life Sciences, Intellectual Property (IP) and Technology.
Prior to starting her training with VWV, Emily worked at an IP firm in London, where she gained an understanding of IP issues and processes, with a focus on trade marks and patent prosecution.
As part of her training, Emily worked closely with VWV's pharmaceuticals and life sciences team to provide advice on various regulatory matters (including specials, human tissue, borderlines and GMP/GDP). Emily has also supported sector clients with website terms and conditions, supplier agreements, and research/collaboration projects.
Emily has recently completed a six months secondment at the Zoological Society of London (ZSL). During this time, Emily notably supported colleagues with the growth of ZSL's licensing programme and commercial arm. Emily also provided advice on a range of matters including IP strategy, location agreements and releases, supplier and vendor relationships, and grant funding.
Recent work includes:
- Drafting IP assignments and licences
- negotiating collaboration agreements
- advising on the regulatory considerations of establishing a life sciences business in the UK.

What you might like to know
Emily lived in Munich for a year as part of her German and History degree, where she worked for a pharmaceutical company in their translation department.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys travelling, board games and exploring new places in London.
