Kara is a Solicitor in the Charities team, working with organisations to provide charity, company and trust law advice. Her specialism includes governance matters; constitutional review; advising on trustee decision-making and duties; trading subsidiaries; grant-making; legacies and endowment funds and setting up and registering charities. In addition, Kara has experience advising on mergers and other strategic restructuring projects.

Kara is also experienced in liaising with regulators on a range of matters as part of the regulatory framework in which charities operate. Kara is a member of the Charity Law Association.

Kara is based in our Bristol office but can support you nationally.

What You Might Like to Know

Prior to training at VWV, Kara graduated with First Class Honours in Law with European Legal Studies (LLB) from the University of Southampton, before going on to achieve a Distinction in the LPC Master of Science programme in Law, Business & Management with The University of Law. As part of her undergraduate degree, Kara lived in Spain whilst studying aspects of Spanish law at the Universidad de Granada.

Outside of work, Kara enjoys travelling, country walks, and spending time with family and friends.
