Louise CombstockSenior Associate

Louise Combstock

Louise is a Senior Associate in our Estates, Tax Planning and Trust team.

With over 14 years of experience in the team, Louise has developed and refined her expertise in estate administration, succession planning/trusts, wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs), vulnerable adults and the Court of Protection.

Louise’s knowledge of estate administration allows her to guide families on available tax reliefs, including nil-rate bands, residence nil-rate bands, Business Property Relief, and Agricultural Property Relief. She also assists with estates involving cross-border assets and is well-versed in navigating tax complexities for estates with non-domiciled residency in the UK.

She advises clients on succession planning, helping structure personal affairs to suit individual needs, including lifetime trusts. She also assists with drafting wills and LPAs, ensuring they align with clients' specific requirements.

For families with vulnerable children, Louise provides guidance on protecting wealth while offering essential support through Vulnerable Persons Trusts and bespoke LPAs.

Her expertise extends to complex financial matters, including bespoke gifting applications, applications for professional or lay Deputies concerning property and financial affairs, and Court of Protection orders (s36 and s54) to appoint a second trustee for property-related issues when an individual has lost capacity. She also manages Deputyship files for professional Deputies.

Louise takes a client-centered approach, actively listening to understand each individual’s background and circumstances. This enables her to offer practical, pragmatic, and tailored advice to meet their needs and those of their families.

Louise is based in our Bristol office but can support you nationally.
