Senior Associate in Private Client

How Can Sophie Help You

Sophie is a Senior Associate in our Estates, Tax Planning & Trusts team. She works on a wide variety of non-contentious Private Client work, including Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney, the administration of estates, and tax planning.

Sophie prides herself on developing strong and long-lasting relationships with clients and is known for having an empathetic, diligent and pragmatic approach.

Sophie works closely with our Residential Property team as well as our Contentious Probate and Trusts team on estate administration matters. She also liaises with our Corporate and Commercial team where appropriate when advising on estate planning matters involving business succession.

She is based in the London office but visits our other offices on occasion and can support you nationally.

Meeting Your Needs

Sophie is acutely aware that our clients come to us at important, and often distressing, times in their lives. This area of law is hugely personal - whilst also being profoundly complex - and explaining the technicalities to her clients clearly and sensitively, and ensuring that their wishes are protected, is something she finds hugely rewarding.

Sophie has experience of company law, having spent four years as a Corporate lawyer at renowned City firms. She is well positioned to advise on succession planning aspects for business owners.

What You Might Like to Know

Sophie is a full member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners having passed all of the required examinations for full TEP designation with distinction. She joined VWV in 2025, having previously worked in well-known firms in the Thames Valley.

Sophie originally read Biology at Imperial College and, following her conversion to law, trained and qualified as a Solicitor in 2010 at a large City firm.

Having practiced in corporate mergers & acquisitions for four years, she took a break from the law and worked in the education sector. She returned to specialise in private client work in 2019 and now hugely enjoys the variety that this practice area provides.

Outside of work, Sophie enjoys spending time with her husband and young sons. She is half French and a fluent speaker of the language, and particularly likes travelling to Provence to visit relatives and to the Alps to teach her boys to ski.
