The acquisition is key for Cegos as it consolidates the positioning and activities of Cegos in the United Kingdom and forms part of their international growth strategy.
Emma Cameron, Partner in the VWV Corporate team, who led on the acquisition, said: “This is a timely acquisition for Cegos – helping to expand its role in the growing UK skills development market. The deal required long hours of work across various time zones but VWV, Cegos and its corporate finance advisor (Grant Thornton, led by Andrew Frame) worked hard to bring the deal to a successful conclusion and we were delighted to be part of the buy-side team.”
The VWV team included Hannah Radclyffe (Senior Associate, Corporate team), Harnik Singh (Solicitor, Corporate team), Rowena Witter (Senior Associate, Property team), Alex Ueno-Park (Partner, Tax team), Andrew Gallie (Partner, Data Protection team), Michael Delaney (Partner, Employment team) and Paul Gershlick (Partner, Commercial team).
The deal comes shortly after the VWV Corporate team in Watford was ranked band 1 by Chambers & Partners. The team regularly advises on M&A, investment and financing deals for both local and national clients.
