Bradley is an Associate in our Regulatory Compliance team.

Bradley primarily assists clients in the education sector including schools (both independent and the academies and maintained sector), colleges, universities and other education and guardianship providers, advising on a broad spectrum of regulatory issues.

For schools and academies, Bradley regularly advises on a wide range of pastoral issues including safeguarding and child protection, complex parental complaints, behaviour and discipline, suspensions and exclusions, special educational needs, inspection related matters, and the initial and ongoing management of incidents involving current and former pupils and parents. Bradley also advises school and academies who are subject to legal action, including disability discrimination claims in the First Tier Tribunal (Special Educational Needs and Disability).

For universities, Bradley advises on a wide range of regulatory issues including routine and complex student matters and complaints, the management of academic and non-academic disciplinary proceedings, fitness to practise and study, student fee disputes, welfare and students of concern, freedom of speech, Equality Act obligations and compliance with consumer law.

Bradley advises universities facing critical incidents and is able to assist in the management of complaints to the OIA. Bradley also has a wide range of experience advising universities who are subject to claims, including Equality Act claims, breach of contract county court claims and judicial review.

Whilst based in our Bristol office, Bradley regularly works from our London office and collaborates with colleagues across the firm, ensuring that clients are provided with timely, clear and pragmatic advice.

Bradley enjoys the challenges that this area of law can attract and understands the need to provide solution focused and practical advice, assisting schools and universities to resolve matters as swiftly and cost effectively as possible.

The service and advice provided was professional, supportive and of a high standard. It enabled the School to address key issues relating to the Year 12 student in the most appropriate and effective manner. Thank you for this. Should I require any further legal advice in the future I shall certainly contact your office.
