The UK healthcare sector is one of the most heavily regulated sectors in the UK. The Covid-19 pandemic, advances in technology and changes in strategy have led to great change in both the NHS and private sectors. Private investment (domestic and international) into the UK healthcare sector continues to grow notwithstanding funding challenges faced by the NHS. Specialist legal support is required when investing in these areas.
As leading UK healthcare lawyers, we have acted for clients making investments in all parts of the healthcare sector across the UK, including within the care, medical, dental and pharmaceutical sectors. We act for clients considering investment in both the NHS and private sectors. In addition, we have also advised investors seeking opportunities within the digital and health tech space, as well as those looking to invest in healthcare property in the UK.
We provide specialist, commercially focussed advice and support to individual investors, private equity houses and other institutional investors based both domestically and internationally.
We have acted for private equity investors in relation to buy-and-build strategies and on high value transactions. We are happy to be flexible in our approach and we have worked on behalf of investors and sellers and also alongside retained lawyers undertaking healthcare specific due diligence exercises.
As beneficiaries, HEIs can often find themselves involved in slow or deadlocked estate administration. We advise HEIs on the options available to them, from guiding them through the administration and prompting the Executors into action, through to the ultimate sanction of the removal of Executors, where necessary by court application, if they have breached their legal duties.
