Jaime is a Partner in the Charities team with a particular focus on the education sector working for maintained schools, academies and multi academy trusts.
She also leads on the charity administration service we offer to grant-making charities.
Jaime advises on a range of charity and company law matters including constitutional, governance, restructuring and trading issues, and provides specialist advice on academy conversion, multi academy trusts, academy transfers and academy governance.
Jaime is particularly interested in the governance of academy trusts and enjoys advising academy trusts on matters relating to company law, the DfE model articles of association and the added layer of requirements / obligations set out in the academy trust handbook.
Having been absorbed in the state education sector for over ten years, there is little Jaime hasn’t seen both in terms of conversions and transfers and the challenges that trusts are faced with daily, and she is well placed to support your school whatever its plans. Jaime has been a governor of both a primary and secondary school and so understands the role of governors and the time they give up to support their schools.
Jaime also acts as secretary to several grant-making trusts and, with our administrators, helps trustees with the day-to-day business of receiving, assessing and deciding on grant applications including providing clerking services and attending trustees' meetings, and managing their investment and property portfolios.
Jaime is based in our Birmingham office but supports our clients nationally.
