Nicola is an Associate in our Regulatory Compliance team, based in our London office.
A dual qualified Solicitor and Barrister, as well as Teacher and school leader with experience in the education and public sectors, she is ideally placed to advise education institutions of all types within our Regulatory Compliance team.
She advises on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious issues, including safeguarding and child protection, health and safety and visits, contracts, pupil discipline, parental complaints, inspections, and admissions and exclusion.
Nicola's experience includes:
- managing safeguarding matters.
- advising schools on policies and procedures relating to pupil behaviour, safeguarding, exclusion and health and safety.
- advocacy in private and public law proceedings and in family proceedings.
- advising local authorities on education, welfare and Special Educational Needs matters, including funding.
Nicola understands governors' and senior managers' perspective in challenging situations, having been a senior leader of three schools, with a focus on pastoral care and safeguarding.
She has also contributed to successful independent school inspections.
Nicola is based in our London office but can support you nationally.
