With a particular focus on education he advises on a wide range of contract, common law and regulatory issues and disputes including, complex debt and contract claims, inspection challenges, educational negligence and civil court discrimination claims. He can assist you with launching/answering formal and informal complaints and with early dispute resolution where appropriate. Where escalation is necessary or unavoidable, James is also experienced at handling pre-litigation, mediated and court actions, including judicial review proceedings, for the firm's public, private and third sector clients.
James is highly professional and a natural litigator with an analytical approach and ability to adapt his style of communication as required. He understands the importance of avoiding protracted and costly disputes and offers clear, practical and cost effective advice.
James has presented variously on debt and contract matters for independent schools strategies for dealing with litigants in person, and regularly contributes to articles, including for VWV's Schools Law Brief (subscribe), University Business and Independent Leader Magazine.
In his spare time, he is interested in history and theatre, especially a combination of the two. James is also a keen cyclist and on the weekends you will invariably find him on two wheels… not quite Mark Cavendish but he can dream.
