Victoria is an AMS Senior Associate in our Regulatory Compliance team. 

Victoria has over 20 years' experience working in and for the charity and education sectors. She trained as a charity and education lawyer and is now an education law specialist. Prior to joining VWV in 2017 she worked for two major children's charities, The Children's Society and The Prince's Trust (now King's Trust), and in the HE Sector in the School of Education at Bath Spa University. She also acted as the interim Head of Legal and Policy at the Independent Schools Council in 2018 and continues to be a member of their safeguarding and SEND advisory groups.  She trained and qualified as a solicitor at Stone King where her work focused  on registration and governance, safeguarding and education matters. 

In 2017 Victoria was employed as VWV's first professional support lawyer, taking a lead role in the training and knowledge management for the regulatory compliance team at VWV. This included training lawyers in new law and practice affecting a broad range of education providers, producing a wide range of fixed fee products including policies and two subscriber services for independent and academies and maintained schools and providing advice on complex and technical aspects of education and safeguarding law.

In 2025 Victoria moved roles and is now a Senior Associate who provides a wide range of advice to public sector and academies and maintained school clients. She has special expertise in advising on the regulatory frameworks relevant to full and part-time education providers and out of school settings (including those with complicated governance structures), set up and registration of schools, safeguarding legislation and multi-agency arrangements, equality and discrimination issues relating to unlawful segregation by sex in schools and special educational needs and disability issues, reasonable adjustments and transgender/gender identity issues and complicated parent complaints.

Victoria has a special interest in supporting schools and alternative providers who need assistance with their work supporting vulnerable and care experienced children and young people and those with special educational needs.
 
Victoria is based in our Bristol and London offices.

What you might like to know

Outside work Victoria chairs the advisory board of a small children's charity that works with children in and on the fringe of the care system and has been a volunteer mentor for alumni who have been supported by the Royal National Children's SpringBoard Foundation. She is also a Level 3 trained DSL and LTA club welfare officer.

She has also written a number articles for education sector bodies publications, including for the Independent Schools Council (ISC), Independent Schools Bursars Association (ISBA), the Boarding School Association (BSA) the Institute of School Business Leadership (ISBL), Times Education Supplement (TES).
