STOP PRESS: New NHS Dental Policy Booklet

on Wednesday, 11 April 2018.

On the 5 April 2018, NHS England published a new Policy Book for Primary Dental Services.

This revised Policy Book for Primary Dental Services document replaces the older NHS Policy Book that was previously available on the NHS England website. The revised document is accompanied by a separate Appendices booklet.

If you are referring to the Policy Book, please make sure you use the most recent version available online and do not use printed copies, that may be out of date.

Some of the main changes and updates to the document include:

  • An update on termination policy to define when a breach should be issued
  • Summation of remedial and breaches notices, and terminations issued across NHS England
  • Development of a standard spreadsheet for Local Offices to use for combining contracts at year-end for dental practices with multiple contracts
  • A requirement for Local Offices to perform periodic spot checks of the NHS BSA data received in order to confirm that there are no significant exceptions or anomalies

A full summary of the changes can be found here.

The current policy book and appendices booklet can be accessed through the hyperlinks above or by clicking here.
