on Monday, 13 July 2015.

We are delighted to announce that Bristol Children's Help Society and The Charlie Waller Memorial Trust are our new nominated charities of the year for 2015/16.

The partnerships involve providing targeted financial support throughout the year, including donations from the charitable trust as well as other fundraising events on a firm-wide, team and individual basis.

It also involves a commitment from the firm to build a close working relationship with each charity by learning more about their work, which will be achieved through a range of activities.

Simon Heald, VWV Managing Partner, commented:

"I am delighted that we are able to continue supporting local charities where our fundraising can really make a difference.

"Colleagues from all offices fully-embraced supporting our previous charities, BRACE and St Mungo’s Broadway. This included a Hog Roast BBQ for family and friends, dress down days, cake sales and sponsored runs. We hope that this year we can raise even more."

Bristol/Birmingham - Bristol Children's Help Society

The aim of Bristol Children's Help Society (BCHS) is to support young children from the most disadvantaged backgrounds and to give them an opportunity to extend their horizons beyond the deprivation in which many of them live. BCHS was founded in 1884 with the Children’s Centre being established at the present location in 1890.

Bob Hollis, Chairman of BCHS, said:

"We are delighted that VWV has picked BCHS to support this year, as there have been individuals from VWV linked with our great Bristol institution over many years. This brings Barton Camp to the attention of the many younger and new members of staff at the firm.

"Money raised will make a great difference to less fortunate children and their families in our region."

London - The Charlie Waller Memorial Trust

The Trust was set up in 1998 in memory of Charlie Waller, a young man who took his own life whilst suffering from depression. Charlie Waller was the son of the Rt Hon. Sir Mark Waller and Lady Waller. Shortly after his death, his family founded the Trust in order to educate young people on the importance of staying mentally well and how to do so.

The Trust is an independent charity that works with partners in the health service, education and the private sector across the country. The Trust’s vision is of a world where people understand and talk openly about depression, where young people know how to maintain wellbeing, and where the most appropriate treatment is available to everyone who needs it.

Clare Stafford, CEO of the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust commented:

“Thank you so much for choosing to support our charity this year. Depression is a huge issue in society today and I’m sure many of you will have been affected by it in some way, either personally, amongst friends, family or your colleagues at work. At CWMT we raise awareness of depression, provide talks and training in schools, at universities, for GPs and in the workplace, and fund research into new treatments. Our focus is to make sure that every penny we raise goes towards making a positive difference to people with depression and their families.”
