We provided guidance on advertising and managing the application process, produced bespoke documents to ensure a robust and measured application scoring process, and drafted contracts of employment, ensuring any compliance and legislation requirements were fully considered. Our input ensured the directors of the firm didn’t spend valuable time working through this themselves and that they could be reassured all angles had been considered.
We have also recently provided two training sessions for VWV Approach member Barcan+Kirby. We delivered a session on Unconscious Bias, exploring what it is, how it can impact in the workplace and steps that can be taken to mitigate the impact. We ended the session by touching on Neurodiversity and this led to us delivering a fuller session on this topic.
In the second session, we focused on explaining what neurodiversity means, typical and atypical psychological profiles and identifying common traits and potential behaviours in the workplace. We progressed to consider how organisations can support and maximise the potential of all staff by creating an inclusive culture, to include how we communicate, make reasonable adjustments and work with each other to develop more efficient ways of working and ultimately, becoming more successful organisations. The session concluded with reflections on our own working practice, how we can engage neurodiverse talent and ensure organisational workforces reflect our diverse population. Lucy Hartrup, Head of Marketing & Business Development at Barcan+Kirby says:
"NQHR delivered 2 training sessions to the senior team at the Barcan+Kirby Associates Academy. The first session covered Unconscious Bias and the other focused on Neurodiversity in the Workplace. The team took time to understand our needs and the audience they were addressing. They were professional and engaging presenters. The sessions were interactive (but not too interactive) and informative. The feedback from the attendees was incredibly positive and we wouldn’t hesitate to book them again in the future."
