Many schools and academies experience difficulties managing pupils with special educational needs (SEN), alongside compliance with other statutory regimes including the Equality Act 2010.

Schools are also seeing increasingly growing numbers of placement consultations for children with education, health and care (EHC) plans and a variety of associated challenges, including responding to those consultations and ensuring that needs are adequately met.
