The challenge kicks off from Brindley Place in Birmingham on Tuesday 17 June, with the team weaving their way along the Grand Union Canal to Watford and London, before switching to the Thames and Kennet & Avon Canal, reaching Bristol on the morning of Friday 20 June.
Each leg of the route ranges between 9–11 miles (with a few shorter and longer options for good measure) bringing together colleagues from all corners of the business. The scenic (but thankfully flat!) route connects all of VWV's office locations and offers a unique way to unite teams, stretch legs, and raise vital funds for causes close to their hearts.
“The enthusiasm that we've had for this event from across the business is a testament to the team and community spirit of colleagues at VWV,” said Ed Rimmell (Commercial Partner in the Bristol office and one of the event organisers). “It’s a brilliant way to connect our people, have some fun, and most importantly, make a difference for the charities we support in our communities.”
The challenge was open to all staff who expressed an interest, with each participant invited to choose their preferred leg, day, and even their running buddy.
This is more than a relay—it’s a celebration of community, commitment, and charity. With preparations in full swing, excitement is already building for what promises to be a truly unforgettable event. To support the team and their office Charity of the Year we'd really appreciate any donations however small.
Our offices decide locally which local charity they would like to support. In 2025, our staff are supporting :
Birmingham - Gilgal Birmingham
Bristol - FoodCycle
London - Providence Row
Watford - New Hope
