Our approach to family business disputes is one of resolution through collaboration, wherever possible. We have expertise in alternative dispute resolution and two of our partners, Huw Morgan and Nigel Puddicombe are qualified mediators.
Sometimes, resort to court proceedings cannot be avoided, usually where relations between family members have weakened to the extent that a n out of court settlement cannot be reached.
In these situations, subject to conflicts of interest, we can advise individuals or family branches on the options available to them. Sometimes this will have to involve the business being split in some way, or sold.
