New Vento Bands Announced from 6 April 2023

The bands are increased annually and this year's increase has been announced. The following new bands will apply to cases presented on or after 6 April 2023:

• a lower band of £1,100 to £11,200 for less serious cases
• a middle band of £11,200 to £33,700 for cases which do not merit an award in the upper band
• an upper band of £33,700 to £56,200 for the most serious cases

Amounts in excess of £56,200 can be awarded in the most exceptional cases. It is for Tribunals to determine which band a case falls into, and where in the band it should sit. The guidance is not binding, but Tribunals must have regard to it and in practice it would be unusual for the Vento bands not to be followed.
