The Employment Rights Bill has completed its passage in the House of Commons and has now progressed to its second reading in the House of Lords. An amended version of the Bill has been published, incorporating all amendments made in the Commons. The Bill has grown by over 100 pages compared to the previous version.
The landmark Bill will introduce multiple key employment law reforms, including day one unfair dismissal rights, enhanced protections for zero-hours workers, new protections against dismissal for pregnant employees and those on maternity leave, and strengthened enforcement mechanisms for employment rights.
