Gender pay gap reporting has been in place since 2017. Private and public sector employer with 250 or more employees at an annual 'snapshot' date are required to carry out and report various calculations designed to track their organisation's gender pay gap over time.
The Government Equalities Officer has published new statutory guidance on gender pay gap reporting. The guidance has been re-formatted and re-organised, with duplication removed from its previous iteration. However, the new guidance contains no substantive changes to any of the guidance around gender pay gap reporting. The guidance applies to both private and public sector employers, although it does not apply to Scottish or Welsh public authorities.
The guidance is arranged in sections. It gives an overview of the gender pay gap reporting requirements, addresses who needs to report and when, and sets out guidance to help employers carry out their calculations and publish their reports.
Employers should note that the public sector snapshot date is approaching on 31 March, with the private sector date following shortly thereafter on 5 April.
