Barry predominantly deals with GP surgeries and Dental practices. He can help you with any property related issues that you have, whether those issues are as a property owner or as a tenant.
I work for the firm's Healthcare clients and advise on a wide range of property transactions. This includes undertaking refinancing work and carrying out due diligence exercises on behalf of a lender, negotiating leases and licences, purchases and sales of a practice’s property and dealing with the transfer of property between partners within a partnership (typically when a partner joins or retires from a partnership).
The Healthcare team spans across all four of the VWV offices and, as well as the above day to day work, I provide property support to colleagues in the wider team. This support is required on corporate transactions, which involves the sale and purchase of Dental practices and mergers of GP practices.
The separate representation work that I undertake on behalf of lenders requires a significant amount of cross team collaboration and I act as the hub in this process. This frequently involves ensuring that the correct corporate/company documents are put into place, reviewing employment contracts and providing employment advice, ensuring that any requisite statutory approvals are achieved and various other pieces of distinct work which the circumstances requires. The firm has expertise across many sectors and areas of law which helps to make sure these transactions move quickly.
Property loans are typically the biggest liability that a practice will have. I can help a practice understand the nuances and the pitfalls associated with the process of refinancing and I can ensure that the transactions progress quickly.
I am a keen kite surfer and, if it’s windy enough, I try to spend most of my weekends at the beach.
