VWV has recently advised Bristol-based Zap-Map, the UK's leading electric vehicle (EV) charging platform, on securing investment from Good Energy, one of the UK’s leading renewable energy suppliers.

Zap-Map is the go-to app for Britain’s 200,000 EV drivers - planning routes, locating charge points, checking their availability and sharing power. Its 70,000 regular monthly users have more than 11,000 charging devices to choose from across the UK, all easily navigable from its intuitive app - from service stations to car parks, retail sites to private driveways.

Good Energy has taken a 12.9% share in Zap-Map’s parent company, Next Green Car Ltd, with an option to take a majority share within two years. The deal will support the growth of Zap-Map's product development as it realises the full potential of its digital electric vehicle charging services. The two South West England teams will collaborate on broader applications for the proprietary platform, while seeking to maintain the exponential growth of it electric vehicle user base.

Nathan Guest, corporate partner and head of the Technology sector at VWV, commented:

"We are delighted to have had the opportunity to support Zap-Map in achieving this significant milestone. Given the increasing popularity of plug-in vehicles, the significant government focus on encouraging use of EVs and this exciting collaboration, the business is well placed to scale and to become a key resource for EV users and the wider EV market."

Melanie Shufflebotham, co-founder of Zap-Map, said:

"A huge thanks to Nathan and the team at VWV who helped us navigate the legal aspects of securing an investment from Good Energy. We found the process transparent and efficient throughout and would certainly recommend VWV for other digital-tech companies looking for help in negotiating and closing an investment."
