Employers will no doubt be aware of the widely reported changes to the flexible work request regime, which took effect on 6 April 2024. Headlines reporting on the changes have often focused on the fact that the right to request flexible working is now a "day one" right for employees.

However in reality, many employers allowed staff to request flexible working from the first day of employment in any event. The changes that may have a greater practical impact could be the changes to the statutory procedure for considering and responding to a request, including the shortened timescale for reaching a decision and the new emphasis on employee consultation.

This webinar will be focusing on key tricky issues and practical learning points arising from the new law, examining some of the finer detail of challenging procedural points. Considering common practical scenarios and case studies, the session will include practical tips for employers and will highlight areas of potential risk.
